Interlibrary Loan (ILL): Borrowing from Other Libraries

The Interlibrary Loan Unit (ILL) obtains books, journal articles, and other materials for UH Manoa students, faculty, staff, and affiliates when the materials are NOT available in the UH Manoa Libraries.

BorrowItNow (Direct Requests)
Can't find a book available in the UH system? Check in BorrowItNow to locate and order the title. This self-service ILL book loan system allows you to order directly from 31 academic research libraries in the GWLA consortia. Turnaround time ~ 5 – 7 days.
*Note: If the book you want is not available in BorrowItNow, please submit via regular the regular ILL service.

IntraSystem Article Request (ISAR) Guidelines
The IntraSystem Article Request service obtains copies of documents (journal articles, book chapters) for UH Manoa students, faculty, and staff from other UH System libraries when the titles are not available at UH Manoa. (To request book loans from other UH System libraries, use the Voyager "Get This Item" request form.)

External Services Program (ESP)
The purpose of the External Services Program is to obtain materials for clients who are not affiliated with the University of Hawaii. Services provided on a cost-recovery basis include: document delivery, book loans, photographic/imaging services, media duplication/reformatting services, preservation services, and custom research.
