Through our subscription of the Japan Knowledge, NetAdvance made the new database, "Nihon Rekishi Chimei Taikei," available for all of us. All GWLA participating libraries should be able to use this trial service until Nov. 15. We have 7 simultaneous accesses now. We are pleased to let you know that we are conducting a trial of the ACLS History E-Book Project through the end of October.
This electronic resource includes almost 1300 full-text, cross-searchable books in the field of history selected by historians for their continuing importance to students and scholars.
The project includes both in-print and out-of print books and adds 250 titles a year. It is a collaboration of the American Council of Learned Societies, various constituent members of the ACLS (AHA, OAH, AAS, ASA, LASA, MESA, RSA, and SHOT, ) and nearly 75 publishers.
Areas include: African, American, Asian, Latin American, European (Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, and Modern), Middle Eastern, World/Comparative, Byzantine/Mediterranean and Australasian/Oceanian history, plus history of the Native Peoples of the Americas and of Science and Technology.
