Preservation Department

From 2011-2015, the Preservation Department partnered with the University Archives to curate and present professional exhibitions in the Moir Reading Room. Special exhibitions may also be presented by the Preservation Department in Hamilton Library's Bridge Gallery. Preservation Department staff are available to library departments who need preservation advice on handling and installing exhibition materials.

Finding the Silver Lining

In October 2014, two exhibitions commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Manoa Stream flood were installed. A documentary photograph exhibition illustrating the response, partnership, conservation treatment and outcomes was staged in the Bridge Gallery. The second exhibition featuring before pictures with the framed rare maps showcase the conservation treatment work executed in response to the disaster.
