Information for Library Staff Using Hamilton Classrooms

See the Classroom Use Guidelines for further information.

Classrooms #113 (Phase II) and #156 (Phase III) contain PC computers, and a computer/video projector. The Yap conference room (153A in Phase III) has an instructor PC and projection system only. There are 20 student PCs in classroom 113; 12 student PCs in classroom 156. All classrooms contain an instructor PC, overhead projector and a laserprinter.

All PCs in classrooms have the MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) on the Windows 9x or 2000 OS platform. Web browser software (Netscape and Internet Explorer ) and other internet programs (telnet, ws_ftp) are available. Voyager software is loaded on all PCs for training purposes. Requests for installation of special software (freeware, trial usage) must be submitted at least 7 working days in advance via the DNS Web Help Desk (Sinclair use: Web Help Desk).

DNS performs a weekly check of the classroom computer equipment. The Division Head for Public Services is responsible for insuring the rooms are stocked with standard instructional supplies (printer paper, toner cartridges, markers, overhead projector bulbs, etc.). Send email to uhmlibps@hawaii.edu to report any classroom facility problems. Use the DNS Web Help Desk (Sinclair use: Web Help Desk) to report problems with computers, printer, or computer projector; a cc should be sent to uhmlibps@hawaii.edu.

  1. If you have reserved a classroom in advance using the Web Calendar, please show your Library ID card to the staff at the Hamilton Circulation Desk and "check out" the key.
  2. If you have NOT reserved a classroom in advance, but would like to use one for a "last minute" meeting or because you need to use the equipment for practice or for a project, check the Web Calendar or with Library Administration as to which rooms are available and to obtain a key.
  3. When you leave the classrooms, please turn off ALL the lights and the projector(s). LOCK the door, make sure the door is pulled shut, and return the key where you checked it out.
