Open 24 Hours during Finals

During the study/final exam period of December 7-14, Hamilton Library will be open:

Sunday, 12:00 pm (Noon) - Friday, 7:00 pm (24 hours a day) Saturday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Sinclair Library will be open 24 hours every day during this period. Wong Audiovisual Center in Sinclair Library will be open shorter hours.

During the hours of 11:00 pm - 7:30 am the libraries are open to UH students, faculty, and staff with a UH ID card.

Some Asia Books Unavailable

(11/11/07)

Many items on the third floor of Hamilton Library that suffered water damage have been removed from the library for restoration and will be unavailable until restoration is complete. These include Asia Collection items with call numbers in the range: Asia PK1718.B497 U7 to Asia PL4209.R33 S56. These items may be requested by completing the Library's Interlibrary Loan request form.

New Bibliographic Records

Two large sets of bibliographic records are being loaded into the Voyager online catalog.

United States Executive Branch Documents, 1910-1932

These records provide access to a set of microfiche containing publications of executive branch agencies that were distributed by the Government Printing Office from 1910-1932. The set "covers the vast body of material issued by federal departments and agencies, including annual reports, general publications, serials, instructions, rules, circulars, decisions, and registers."

CIS Committee Hearings and Prints

These records provide access to more than 40,000 congressional committee hearings and prints published from the 1830s through 1969. Hearings and prints are very important sources of information for area studies, history, and political science, and there is considerable scientific and technical content as well.

The records are being loaded with item records so that they can be requested online. Like all Gov Docs microfiche, they are housed at Dole Office Building and must be paged and brought to campus.

Archive Department Exhibit at Hawaii Hall

The University Archives announces a new exhibit titled "Charters of the University," commemorating the UH Centennial. The exhibit features the charters and documents leading to the University of Hawaii of today and includes legislative materials, documentation of Charter Day activities, and photographs of graduating classes and the first faculty. The exhibit will be up until June 22nd. To see the exhibit go to the Main Floor (floor 2) of Hawaii Hall.
