Library Development

Our Mission

The Library supports the learning, research and information needs of University of Hawai´i at Mānoa students, faculty, staff and our community. The Library provides access to the world of knowledge. It preserves our local cultural heritage for future generations.

Every day, students and researchers use the University of Hawai´i at Mānoa Library, whether searching for books and journals, browsing electronic resources, or just quietly studying. As the physical and intellectual commons of the campus, we promote discovery and the communication of knowledge. The Library must deliver accurate, comprehensive information 24 hours a day to students, scholars, staff and members of the community. In order to provide such service, we must continue to innovate and look for new opportunities to improve our resources and services.

We need your help to keep the Library well supplied with current materials in a large variety of subjects, provide reliable electronic access to a growing number of databases, and offer a place of comfort and convenience to all of our patrons. The Library is a top research facility in the State of Hawai´i and by partnering with individuals in the community we will be able to maintain educational excellence at the University of Hawai´i at Mānoa. Your contribution, at any level, will make a significant impact on how the Library provides service for our community.
