The North American Coordinating Council on Japanese Library Resources
(NCC) awarded its Multi-Volume Sets (MVS) grant to Tokiko Bazzell for
the Japan Collection for the title Kaiho, which costs about $10,700. The
grant provides 75% of the funding for the set, and 25% has been donated
by the Center for Japanese Studies.
The objective of the MVS Program is to strengthen Japanese research resources in North American
university libraries by supporting the purchase of expensive multi-volume set in the Japanese language.
The Program seeks to ensure that valuable materials are available in at least one library in North America,
by utilizing finite book funds as effectively as possible on a national basis.
