Hall of Fame - Lynn Davis

Lynn Davis receives ALA-SC Sarah K. Vann Professional Service Award

The American Library Association Student Chapter at the University of Hawai`i presented Lynn Davis with the 2005 Sarah K. Vann Service Award for outstanding service to the Hawai`i library community. In its letter the Student Chapter noted:

"We also thank you for providing ongoing service to the Library community, not only for your work at Hamilton Library, but also serving as a vital resource to the local community in Hawai`i and beyond. ... You are spreading a new spirit of cooperation, encouraging us to join forces to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Hawai`i. Finally, the ALA-SC would like to express our thanks for your contribution as a role model in our community. We are truly grateful for the chance to work and study with you, for you have shown us through your personal philosophy how one becomes a Super Librarian."

Journal Publication for Lynn Davis

Lynn Davis recently published Photography of Old Hawaii.

She also participated in "Experts at the Palace 2002", a lecture series sponsored by The Historic Preservation Program, American Studies Department at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Begun in 1988, "Experts at the Palace" is an annual Spring series of free public lectures by professionals active in historic preservation, including architects, historians, planners, and others who offer a perspective on preservation issues. Participants come from Hawai`i, the U.S. mainland, Europe, Asia, and the Pacific.
