Erica Chang of the Cataloging Deptartment made history this week by contributing UHM's first (and one of the first by anyone anywhere) vernacular-script-enhanced name authority record to the LC/NACO international names authority file. The ability to add non-roman scripts to name authority records has been under development for many years, and was finally implemented this week. More information about non-roman scripts in name authorities is available here.
