International Year of Light

Fall 2015


The International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies, 2015 (IYL2015) is a United Nations observance that aims to raise awareness of the achievements of light science and its applications, and its importance to humankind. IYL 2015 opening ceremonies were held on 19-20 January 2015 in Paris. In the Science & Technology collection, the Library has a variety of books on the physics, principles and history of light.The exhibit will continue through Fall 2015. Thanks to the work of our LIS interns, Andrea Wade and Thumy Webb.

World Oceans Day - Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet

June 8, 2015 - July 31, 2015


Monday, 8 June, was World Oceans Day. The theme for this year is Healthy Oceans, Healthy Planet. The SciTech Department currently has an exhibit featuring library resources about plastic pollution. Please stop by the SciTech display area to learn more about healthy oceans. The exhibit will continue through July 31st.
