The General Agriculture major offered by the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources is an interdisciplinary undergraduate degree in the agricultural and environmental sciences with two areas of emphasis. The agricultural management option focuses on agricultural production and agri-environmental and agribusiness management. The natural resource management option studies the management of land, water, and biotic natural resources for sustainability and environmental quality. BS is the only degree offered.
This is an interdisciplinary subject area and is supported by the literature in biology, environmental sciences and ecology, horticulture, agricultural and resource economics, agronomy, soil sciences, geography, botany, and zoology. Selection is coordinated with the librarians responsible for these areas.
The Hawaiian Collection and the Pacific Collection are the primary collectors of material originating in Hawaii, and about islands of the Pacific.
The College has proposed an additional BS degree in plant and environmental biotechnology.
